I'm lactose intolerant and between expensive pints of good milk-free ice cream and horrible milk-free ice cream I want to start making my own. What is a good brand of ice cream makers?
Answer
I have a cuisinart fully automatic one. If you really get into it, you may want to make the investment but if this is your first attempt, I would go less expensive. This one makes 1 1/2 quarts and requires you to freeze the workbowl overnight (and is $200 cheaper than the cheapest automatic models). I had this one before I upgraded to the automatic and it worked very well for me.

This is a newer model of what I own
