HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM

There is no dessert more delicious than old fashioned homemade ice cream flavored with pure vanilla.

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. Arrowroot
1/4 tsp. salt
4 egg yolks
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 c. heavy cream

HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM

2 qts. half & half
6 eggs
6 c. sugar
1 c. flour
Some vanilla extract
Some milk
Ice cream maker
2 (10 lb.) blocks crushed party ice
1 box rock salt

Mix sugar and flour by hand real good. Put under mixer on medium power. Add eggs. Then slowly pour half of half and half in at a time. Mix about 2 minutes. Add 5 capfuls of vanilla extract or to desired taste. Pour in ice cream freezer and top off with milk. Add lid and churning paddle. Carefully put in ice cream barrel and insert motor, turn on motor and add ice around sides then use rock salt to freeze the ice. NOTE: Read directions of ice cream maker before use

HOMEMADE VANILLA ICE CREAM

4 eggs
1 box vanilla Junket ice cream mix
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 gallon whole milk

For 5-quart ice cream freezer. Beat eggs. Add sugar and mix well. Add Junket, canned milk and vanilla and mix again. Add salt and stir in well. Pour mixture into freezer can of ice cream freezer. Add whole milk to fill line.
Attach dasher and lid; fill outer container with ice and rock salt. Plug in (if you have the electric kind) or hand crank. When it's impossible to turn, it is done.

This is a delicious recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream for your electric ice cream maker.

Cook Time: 3 hours,
Ingredients:
3 cups milk
2 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups half and half
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
6 cups whipping cream
Preparation:
Scald milk until bubbles form around the edge of pan. Remove from heat; add sugar and salt, stir until dissolved. Stir in half and half, vanilla extract and whipping cream. Cover and refrigerate. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions or see "How To Use A Rival Ice Cream Maker".
For lower fat and cheaper recipes: you can substitute whole milk for the half and half, and canned evaporated skim milk for the whipping cream. Makes enough for a 6 quart ice cream maker.
