Christmas Stocking Stuffers On A Budget

As a child and an adult, I’ve always loved Christmas stockings. Many parents
use them to keep children occupied until Christmas breakfast is over. Then, the
big gifts are unwrapped. This gives relatives time to arrive to see the kids open
their gifts! But, surprise! Adults love them, too, and sometimes we don’t give
adults the pleasure of a Christmas stocking. Here are some ideas for Christmas
stocking stuffers on a budget.

Stocking Stuffers On A Budget For Children

Think of your child’s interests and hobbies, and take into account his/her age.
Snacks (popcorn balls, brownies), candy, party favors, love notes, promise
notes (a trip to the park, an ice cream cone), felt pens, crayons, coloring books,
small games, baseball cards, marbles, gum, magazines, jump rope, jacks, cars,
balls, stamps and ink pad, water colors, and small toys make great stocking
stuffers.

Also consider items they need that you have to buy anyway for stocking stuffers,
such as: funny vitamins, barrettes, nail clippers, toothbrush and small tube of
toothpaste, comb, hair brush, samples of cosmetics or toiletries, pens, pencils,
erasers, pencil sharpener, small pad of paper, cute socks, gloves, or a cap.

Items from a thrift store or yard sale are great for small budgets, including: small
stuffies (most can be washed in a washer), books, or toys.

Stocking Stuffers On A Budget For Adults

Toiletries are welcomed by adults, for example: razor blades or disposable
razors, samples of deodorant or perfume, body powder, nail clippers,
toothbrush, floss, mouthwash, breath fresheners, makeup, comb, eyeglass
cleaners, small hair spray, hair gel, nail file, nail polish, vitamins, or pretty soaps.

Useful items are also appreciated stocking stuffers such as: batteries, a key
ring, shoe laces, a tape measure, pens, a small pad paper, a car air freshener,
Post-Its, seeds to plant, a hose nozzle, needles, thread, paint brushes, a
chamois, homemade crafts (a towel that hangs), a mouse pad, scissors, a
pancake turner, corn on the cob holders, a whisk, an egg slicer, a timer, or toll
booth change.

Fun stocking stuffers on a budget include: nuts, snacks, candy, swizzle sticks,
coffee, a love note, a gift note (wash the car for someone), a magazine, a gossip
rag, mints, gum, a note leading to a container of fire starters (pine cones or
twigs), a homemade tree ornament, small gift certificates, a CD or audio tape.

Top off the stockings with a large candy cane or a giant, Hershey’s kiss, and
bright, curly ribbon. Your Christmas stocking stuffers on a budget will bring your
loved ones joy and pleasure on Christmas Day!"
