I have a Cuisinart Bread Maker and am looking to create some pizza dough for tonight, but I don't want the bread maker to bake it, I just want it to make the dough so I can stick it in the oven afterwards. I don't know how to do make it thin crust though because the pizza is obviously going to rise when I put it in the oven. What ingredients am I supposed to use and what are the steps necessary to make a good thin crust pizza?

Answer
Aaron, The Bread Experience has everything you've ever wanted to know about working with various types of dough. Following is their recipe for thin crust pizza made in a bread machine. I use this blog for nearly everything which comes out of my kitchen, and haven't had a bad recipe yet. Enjoy, and remember to browse the site. It's a keeper.

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

This bread machine pizza dough is a master pizza dough recipe that can be made in 1 1/2 and 2 pound bread makers. It makes 1 (14-inch) thick-crust or 2 (12 inch) thin-crust pizza(s).

Ingredients:

1 cup water (70 to 80oF)
2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread or all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons Bread Machine Yeast
Cornmeal
Directions:

Measure water, oil, salt, flour and yeast into bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough/manual cycle.

When cycle is complete, remove dough to lightly floured surface. If necessary, knead in additional flour to make dough easy to handle.

Lightly oil 1 (14-inch) or 2(12-inch) pizza pan(s); sprinkle lightly with cornmeal. Roll or press to fit into prepared pan(s). For 2 pizzas, divide dough into 2 pieces; roll or press to fit into prepared pans. Top as desired.

Bake at 400oF for 20 to 30 minutes or until done; baking time will vary with size of pizza and toppings selected.
