I have family coming to town and they have kids. I was wondering if there are any really fun places to eat dinner at in Columbus Ohio
Answer
First of all, if you don't have plans for during the day....go to C.O.S.I.

It's super fun for kids and adults, it's amazing.
As far as restaurants:
Buca di Beppo --- downtown across from Nationwide Arena...you kind of have to walk down stairs to get to the entrance, it's like underground slightly. It's great for large groups b/c you can order 'small' (feeds like 3 people at least) or 'large' family style portions (the garlic bread is to die for!) but they also have single servings now I think. They walk you through the kitchen when you go to your table, and they actually have tables IN the kitchen...and large Pope's Table which you need a certain number of people to sit in. It's really fun.
The North Market might be fun if you have adventurous relatives and kiddies. It's free to get in (although I think parking is like $1) and has lots of stalls for food stuffs/restaurants....there's a Jenni's Splendid Ice Cream stall which is a must visit. The kids will love that. There's also a couple Jenni's stores around town (Short North, Grandview Heights, Bexley, Dublin, German Village)
Schmidt's in German Village is amazing. Good for kids I think. They have a killer buffett that includes dessert for only $1.50 (and they have 1/2 lb cream puffs.....that's right!) It's very good, excellent German food. Sometimes they have polka music there...it's so good. The meatloaf is good and not too 'adventurous' if you think the kids won't like german food.....there's also a fudge/candy shoppe across from the restaurant.
The Mellow Mushroom is a decent pizza place. It's got a sort of 70s psychadelic rock theme.
City BBQ is always good, and everyone like BBQ.
Burger places:
5 Guys Burgers and Fries
Brazenhead --- sometimes there is an age limit to get in here....so double check. But the burgers are delicious (it's like an English Pub type place).
Red Robin
Cap City Diner is an excellent restaurant and a little more casual than the other Cameron Mitchel places in Columbus (with the 'diner' theme)....big huge chocolate cake that you all could honestly share. Good food too...it's a little 'nicer' though.
