How can I get my home made ice cream to come out as smooth as store bought?

I use a Cuisinart Ice cream maker and usually use half and half cream to make it. even if I use heavy cream it still comes out grainy. Make an uncooked ice cream. Any suggestions?

There is actually a science to the ingredients in ice cream. I've messed around alot with it. I found the creamiest ice cream has to have heavy cream and egg yolks.
