ice cream maker sale image

I was looking at ice cream machines on amazon but noticed you have to freeze a part of the machine before you make ice cream. I have seen some that you just plug in and you can set a temperature and it will make ice cream. I am looking for something you can just plug in and that is not too pricey. Does anyone know of some?

The best not-too-expensive one is the Cuisinart for $50 or so...sometimes cheaper on sale at local stores or online:
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-ICE-21-Frozen-Yogurt-Ice-Sorbet/dp/B003KYSLMW
It's one of the kinds where the container (with gel in the walls) needs to be frozen 24 hrs in advance though, then plugged in. (After the mixing and freezing, which doesn't take too long, to make the ice cream really hard it needs to be frozen for a few hrs).
It's hard to get anything cold enough to make ice cream from milk, etc, without starting with a very cold container though and also very cold ingredients--you'll get more of a soft serve type ice cream-- so I'm wondering if the "plain plug-in" types you've seen are quite expensive industrial ice cream makers.
You can make ice cream without any electricity though by agitating the milk/etc in a container surrounded by ice and salt. Lots of instructions online for doing that:

And some ice cream makers use the salt and ice just before mixing the ingredients, but then just mix the ingredients electrically (rather than hand-cranking).
