How many cups of salt are in a pound of rock salt?

Rock salt for melting snow - I need to know how many 1 cup measuring cups you would get from a pound of salt.
Please consider the standard 1 cup measuring cup such as one would use in a kitchen. Now, how many cups of salt are in a pound of rock salt - of the type one uses to melt ice on a sidewalk? Thank you!!
For future reference, if anyone wants to know: 2 kitchen standard measuring cups of rock salt of the type used for snow and ice removal weigh 1.6 pounds. This is not the same as Kosher salt, which is lighter. I am answering my own question based on measurements done by 2 different parties which I believe are correct.

What is the best homemade dishwasher detergent recipe?

Alright, I live in an area with hard water.
I've tried using homemade dishwasher soap usually
1 part borax, 1part washing soda, 1/2 part rock salt and citric acid.

Given that the dishes don't come out clean and they have a haze on them I use vinegar as a rinse agent still cloudy.

Any other recipes out there that might work better? Thank you

It's actually pretty easy to whip up a homemade dish detergent, and doing so not only helps you avoid plastic bottles, it also keeps questionable chemicals out of your kitchen.

Ingredients

1 cup Borax
1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup salt

Instructions

Put all ingredients in an airtight container, and shake to mix.
Use 1 T per load.
Use 2 T of white vinegar as a rinse aid.
