There is a polishing compound called "ice cream" which is specifically made for removing scratches from psp, ipod, cell phone, and many other acrylic screen covers.

It is made by a company called "Rad Tech" - their website where you can order "ice cream" can be found here: http://www.radtech.us/products/IceCreme.aspx

Be prepared to rub vigorously for a good 20-40 minutes or longer! Alternatively you can use an electric buffing tool such as a "Drexel" which will take the scratches out in about a minute.

"Ice Cream" is a little expensive--($20.95--don't bother with the "M" version as it's for metal), but does work well. Alternatively, I've heard people claim good results from using a metal compound polisher called "Brasso" which you can pick up at your local grocery store for under $5. Don't know if I'd trust it, but if it doesn't work, then you could switch to "ice cream".
